It is extremely important not to put non-recyclable garbage into the recycling bin. When garbage goes into the recycling truck, it can leak and contaminate the items around it, and if too much garbage ends up in one truck, the entire truckload can be deemed too contaminated to be worth processing, resulting in the entire truckload being condemned to the landfill. Our app was built to solve this problem by empowering well-meaning consumers to sort trash from recycling, accurately.

Our computer vision technology uses a custom neural network which is trained on hundreds of examples of #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, and #7 plastic as well as other materials such as aluminum and steel cans, aluminum foil, cardboard, paper, glass, and more. Powered by the latest innovations in visual search technology, we identify the material of the object you are trying to recycle, and let you know whether it is really recyclable or not.
